Nectiv is built around relationships, context, and trust. Privacy is part of that design.
This Privacy Policy explains how Nectiv ("Nectiv," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our websites, mobile applications, digital profiles, physical and digital networking products, communications features, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Nectiv.
Information you provide directly
We may collect information you provide when you create an account, build a profile, apply for access, join a waitlist, communicate with others, use relationship-management features, contact support, or otherwise use the Services.
This may include:
- name;
- email address;
- phone number;
- profile photo;
- job title, company, industry, biography, and professional information;
- city or general location information you choose to provide;
- links, social profiles, websites, or other profile information;
- application or waitlist responses;
- information submitted through forms;
- payment, shipping, and order information when purchasing physical products;
- information you provide when communicating with Nectiv support.
Relationship and contact information
Nectiv allows users to preserve context about their professional relationships.
Depending on the features you use, we may process:
- people you connect with through Nectiv;
- imported or manually entered contacts;
- information about where or how you met someone;
- relationship notes;
- reminders;
- follow-up dates;
- relationship timelines;
- tags or descriptors;
- commitments or open threads you choose to record;
- information about what a person is working on, seeking, or discussing with you;
- membership in private relationship groups such as My Board;
- introduction history or relationship paths where supported.
Some of this information may relate to people who are not Nectiv users.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you enter about other people is collected and used appropriately.
Communications
If you use Nectiv messaging, calling, community, or other communication tools, we may process information necessary to provide those features.
This may include:
- message content;
- participants;
- timestamps;
- delivery information;
- call or session metadata;
- content you intentionally submit for note-taking, summarization, or other supported AI features.
We do not treat your private relationship notes as public profile information.
Voice, notes, and AI-assisted input
If you choose to use voice capture, note enhancement, message enhancement, summarization, or other AI-assisted features, we may process the text, audio, or other information you provide in order to perform the requested function.
For example, you may tell Nectiv:
"Sarah is raising her first fund and I told her I'd introduce her to James."
Nectiv may help organize that information into relationship context, such as a note, an open commitment, or a possible future reminder.
Nectiv is designed to work from information you actually provide or context already available within Nectiv. AI-assisted features are not intended to fabricate relationship history.
Information from your device and use of the Services
When you use Nectiv, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:
- IP address;
- browser type;
- device type;
- operating system;
- app version;
- language;
- approximate location derived from IP address;
- pages or screens viewed;
- features used;
- links or buttons selected;
- timestamps;
- crash logs;
- performance information;
- diagnostic information;
- referring pages or acquisition sources.
We may use cookies, local storage, software development kits, pixels, or similar technologies to support authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and product performance.
Where required by law, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
Information from NFC cards and QR codes
When someone taps or scans a Nectiv-enabled physical or digital card, we may process information necessary to display the associated profile, record the interaction, or facilitate a connection.
A person may be able to view a public Nectiv profile without creating an account.
We do not create an account for a non-user merely because they tapped or scanned a Nectiv card.
Contact imports
If you choose to import contacts from your device or another service, Nectiv may process the contact information necessary to provide the import and relationship-management functionality.
We will not require you to import your entire address book in order to use Nectiv.
Where technically supported, we aim to process only the information necessary for the feature you requested.
Physical product orders
If you purchase a Nectiv physical card or other product, we may collect information such as:
- name;
- shipping address;
- billing address;
- email;
- phone number;
- product selection;
- order history.
Payment card information may be processed directly by our payment provider. Nectiv does not intend to store your full payment-card number.
Identity or account verification
Certain features may allow or require identity or account verification.
Where third-party verification providers are used, they may process identification information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms.
If government identification is required for a particular verification feature, we will provide additional notice at the time of collection.
2. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- create and maintain your account;

We do not use relationship context merely to create public popularity scores.
3. Private Relationship Context
Relationship context is a core part of Nectiv.
Unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise, information you save about a relationship for your own use is intended to remain private to you.
This may include:
- private notes;
- relationship context;
- reminders;
- My Board selections;
- private tags;
- follow-up information;
- private relationship timelines;
- personal observations;
- commitments you have recorded.
The person a note is about does not automatically receive access to that note.
We may process this information to provide the Nectiv features you request, including search, reminders, Concierge, summaries, preparation, and follow-up assistance.
4. Public Information
Certain Nectiv features are designed to be visible to others.
Depending on your settings and the feature involved, public or shared information may include:
- name;
- profile photo;
- professional title;
- company;
- biography;
- public links;
- public profile information;
- posts;
- comments;
- content shared in public or shared communities.
Public profiles may be accessible through a web browser and may, depending on our technical configuration and your settings, be indexed by search engines.
Please do not publish information you do not want others to see.
5. How We Use Artificial Intelligence
Nectiv may use artificial intelligence to assist with functions such as:
- organizing notes;
- extracting structured context from information you provide;
- enhancing drafts;
- preparing relationship summaries;
- helping search your network;
- identifying recorded commitments;
- generating meeting-preparation context;
- surfacing possible follow-up opportunities;
- supporting other relationship-management features.
Our governing approach is simple:
AI may help interpret and organize information Nectiv has. It should not invent relationship history.
AI-generated or AI-assisted output may be inaccurate. You should review important information before relying on it.
Where appropriate, we may show you AI-extracted information for confirmation before saving it as structured relationship context.
We may use third-party AI service providers to process information necessary to provide these features. Where we do so, we require service providers to process information in accordance with applicable agreements and legal requirements.
We do not represent that every AI provider, model, or feature handles information in exactly the same way. Additional notices may apply to particular features.
6. Calls, Voice Capture, and Recording
Certain Nectiv features may allow users to record, transcribe, summarize, or otherwise process spoken communications.
If a feature records or transcribes a conversation involving another person, you are responsible for using that feature lawfully and obtaining any consent required in your jurisdiction.
Nectiv may also implement product-level consent or notification mechanisms where appropriate.
Do not record or submit conversations to Nectiv when you do not have the legal right to do so.
7. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances.
Service providers
We may use third-party service providers that help us operate Nectiv, including providers of:
- cloud infrastructure;
- database services;
- authentication;
- communications;
- analytics;
- error monitoring;
- email delivery;
- customer support;
- payment processing;
- shipping or fulfillment;
- identity verification;
- artificial intelligence;
- content moderation;
- security.
These providers may process personal information only as necessary to perform services for us, subject to applicable agreements and legal obligations.
Other users
We disclose information to other users when you intentionally interact with them or make information available to them.
For example:
- profile information you choose to share;
- messages you send;
- posts or comments you publish;
- content shared inside a Council or other group;
- connection information necessary to establish a relationship.
Private notes are not automatically disclosed to the person they concern.
Business transfers
If Nectiv is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law;
- respond to valid legal process;
- protect the rights, safety, or property of Nectiv, our users, or others;
- investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- enforce our agreements.
8. Selling and Sharing Personal Information
Nectiv does not sell personal information for money.
Nectiv also does not intend to use personal information for third-party cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising unrelated to the Nectiv Services.
If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required opt-out mechanisms.
Certain privacy laws use terms such as "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" more broadly than ordinary language. If applicable law gives you a right to opt out of a particular processing activity, we will provide a method to exercise that right.
California law, for example, provides qualifying consumers rights involving the sale or sharing of personal information, while Texas law includes opt-out rights relating to targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling.
9. Cookies and Analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in;
- remember settings;
- protect accounts;
- measure site and app performance;
- understand feature usage;
- diagnose errors;
- understand how users arrive at Nectiv.
We may use third-party analytics or infrastructure providers for these purposes.
Where legally required, you may be able to control non-essential cookies through a cookie-consent interface.
Your browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies.
Blocking certain cookies may affect how the Services function.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:
- provide the Services;
- maintain your account;
- comply with legal obligations;
- resolve disputes;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- enforce agreements;
- protect security.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information.
If you delete information or close your account, some information may remain temporarily in backups or may be retained where required or permitted by law.
We aim not to retain personal information longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, consistent with applicable privacy principles.
11. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Nectiv account through available account settings or by contacting us at privacy@nectiv.com.
When an account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with that account, except where retention is reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other permitted purposes.
Deleting your account does not necessarily remove information another user independently created or retained as part of their own lawful account activity.
For example, if another user recorded that they met you at an event, that record belongs to their private relationship context and may not be part of your account data.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply to Nectiv, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These may include the right to:
- request access to personal information;
- request correction;
- request deletion;
- obtain a portable copy of certain information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling where applicable;
- appeal certain decisions concerning privacy requests;
- lodge a complaint with an applicable regulator.
California law includes rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of certain sale or sharing, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable.
Texas law includes rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of certain targeted advertising, sales, and qualifying profiling.
Individuals protected by the GDPR may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and protections involving certain automated decision-making.
To submit a privacy request, contact:
privacy@nectiv.com
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Where required by law, we will also provide a process for appealing a denied privacy request.
13. Legal Bases for Processing
If laws such as the GDPR require us to identify a legal basis for processing personal information, our legal bases may include:
- performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to provide the Services you requested;
- legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, and improving the Services;
- consent, where required;
- compliance with legal obligations.
The applicable basis depends on the information and the purpose for which it is processed.
14. International Data Transfers
Nectiv and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
If personal information is transferred from a jurisdiction requiring specific transfer protections, we will use legally recognized safeguards where required.
These may include contractual protections or other transfer mechanisms permitted by applicable law.
15. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.
These measures may include:
- encrypted connections;
- authentication controls;
- access controls;
- logging and monitoring;
- security testing;
- restricted internal access;
- service-provider controls.
No technology or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
16. Children's Privacy
Nectiv is intended for adults and professional users.
The Services are not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information to Nectiv, contact us at privacy@nectiv.com.
17. Third-Party Services and Links
Nectiv may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services.
Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review those policies before providing information to third parties.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Nectiv evolves.
If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Services, by email, or through another reasonable method.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when the most recent version became effective.
